Les Misérables. Directed by Tom Hooper, Starting Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried. Produced by Working Title and Relativity Media. Distributed by Universal Pictures.
The recent movie Les Misérables is of course a film version of the long running Broadway musical that has become an international phenomenon, leading to the selling of CDs, mugs, and t-shirts with pictures of Cosette before all the iconic buildings of the world. This suggests that during Cosette’s youth, she and Jean Valjean hid from Javert by traveling the world, but then went back to France for some reason. If they had only continued traveling, perhaps Jean Valjean would have lived, but I digress.
This film is well worth seeing in the theater. If you haven’t seen it go see it. Then listen to this review. This your spoiler alert. You have been warned.
